Parks, Open Space & Recreation

With the guidance and support of San Benito County Planning Staff, the "new urbanism" design principals incorporated into the Santana Ranch plan provide opportunity for neighborhood interconnectivity. The proposed school site, parks, and commercial area will function as gathering places in the community. Additionally, the various pocket parks located throughout the neighborhoods will allow neighbors and children to interact on a daily basis thus creating a real community.

Santana Ranch will offer over 18 acres of formal park space, exceeding the County requirements for park acreage. These park facilities shall include approximately 10.4 acres in a linear park extending through the entire community, 2.0 acres in neighborhood parks, and the 5.8 acre Community Park. In addition to the formal parks within Santana Ranch, Wide Class I trials, sidewalks within landscaped corridors, and naturally designed detention basins add key elements to the overall recreational and open space amenities of the community.
