Timeline

On June 12, 1989 the San Benito County Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution No. 89-92 designating 558 acres, including Santana Ranch, as a "Special Study Area." This is intended as an interim designation pending completion and adoption of specific plan pursuant to California Government Code Section 65450. The Board of Supervisors' resolution established an average density of 4 dwelling units per acre.

The current application to San Benito County for approval of the Santana Ranch specific plan will begin with an environmental review and assessment by the County and their consultants. The project review and approval process is expected to proceed through 2009.
